1. Who is responsible for your data

SRL Filosoft Company is responsible for the Color Hunter service and the personal data described in this policy.

2. Scope and minimum age

Color Hunter is for people aged 14 or older. Version 1 does not support accounts for children under 14 and does not provide a parent or legal-representative consent flow. If you believe a child under 14 has created an account, contact us so we can investigate and delete the account and associated data.

3. Data we handle

  • Account and identity data: your Firebase user identifier, email address, display name, optional Google profile image URL, account status, account timestamps, and hunt timezone.
  • Photos and selection data: the photo you choose to submit, its file type, size and dimensions, and the normalized coordinates of the area you selected for color extraction.
  • Hunt and scoring data: hunt date and timezone, daily target color, extracted color, color-distance result, local preview, authoritative server score and label, scoring algorithm version, synchronization status, and submission timestamps.
  • Device-side data: authentication session data, onboarding status, cached daily-color data, local catch history, synchronization metadata, locally retained photos, and scheduled reminder identifiers.
  • Service and security data: request identifiers, internal user and submission identifiers, request path, response status and duration, and technical data that hosting and authentication providers may process, such as IP address, user agent, and service diagnostics.
  • Support data: your email address and any information you include when contacting us. Please do not send passwords, authentication tokens, or unnecessary photos.

Color Hunter does not currently operate advertising, analytics, a marketing-email list, subscriptions, friends, or leaderboards. We do not collect data for those unimplemented features.

4. Where the data comes from

  • You provide identity information through Google sign-in and Firebase Authentication.
  • You provide photos, selected areas, profile choices, and support messages directly.
  • The app and backend generate scoring, submission, synchronization, reminder, and security records while providing the service.
  • Google and Firebase provide authentication claims needed to verify your identity; Color Hunter does not receive or store your Google password.

5. Why we use the data

  • Create and authenticate your account and keep it connected across supported sessions.
  • Provide the daily hunt, process your selected photo area, calculate a score, synchronize history, and retrieve your private photos.
  • Store your profile, catches, streak and statistics, and enforce one ranked catch per canonical hunt day.
  • Schedule an on-device reminder when you have not completed the daily hunt.
  • Protect accounts and infrastructure, prevent abuse, diagnose failures, and maintain service reliability.
  • Answer support, privacy, and account-deletion requests and comply with applicable legal obligations.

Where applicable law requires a legal basis, we process data needed to provide the service and perform our agreement with you; to pursue legitimate interests in security, fraud prevention, support, and service reliability; with your permission for optional device notifications; and where necessary to comply with law or protect legal claims.

6. Scoring and automated processing

The app extracts a color from the area you select and calculates an immediate local preview. When a catch is submitted, the backend independently processes the selected area and calculates the authoritative score using the stored scoring algorithm version. The server result replaces the local preview during synchronization.

This automated calculation affects only your in-game result and history. Color Hunter does not use it to make decisions about employment, credit, health, access to essential services, or similarly significant matters.

7. Local storage and notifications

The Android app stores session state, preferences, cached daily colors, catch records, synchronization metadata, and app-private photos on your device. Synchronized local photos are retained for up to 30 days, subject to cleanup retries; catch metadata may remain locally until you sign out, delete your account, clear app storage, or uninstall the app.

Daily reminders are scheduled locally on your device for 1:00 p.m. when the app believes you have not completed that day’s catch. Color Hunter does not currently use a marketing push-notification backend. You can disable reminders in Android notification settings. See Notification management for instructions. 8. Service providers and disclosures

  • Google Firebase Authentication and Google sign-in authenticate accounts and help prevent authentication abuse.
  • Google Cloud Run hosts the Color Hunter backend, Cloud SQL for PostgreSQL stores account and catch records, and private Google Cloud Storage stores submitted photos.
  • Firebase Hosting delivers the public Color Hunter website.

These providers process data on our behalf under their applicable terms. We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect users or the service, or as part of a business reorganization subject to applicable safeguards. We do not sell personal data.

9. International processing

Color Hunter is operated from Moldova. The application backend, database, and private photo storage are configured for Google Cloud’s europe-central2 region. Google states that Firebase Authentication runs from United States data centers, and other Google services may process data in additional locations. Where required, international processing must use the safeguards provided by applicable law and our service-provider agreements.

10. Retention

  • Original submitted photos in private cloud storage are configured for automatic deletion after 30 days. An account-deletion request also attempts immediate photo deletion; if that attempt fails, the 30-day storage lifecycle remains the fallback.
  • Synchronized photos stored in the app’s private device storage are retained for up to 30 days, subject to retry-safe cleanup.
  • Completed catch and scoring metadata remains in your account history until the account is deleted.
  • Incomplete server submissions are cleaned up after their configured operational window: pending submissions after about one hour and failed submissions after seven days.
  • Authentication, hosting, security, support, and backup records follow operational or provider retention schedules and may be retained longer where necessary for security, legal compliance, or legal claims.

We aim to keep personal data only as long as needed for the purposes described above. If a specific legal requirement requires a longer or shorter period, that requirement controls.

11. Account deletion

You can delete your account in the Android app from Profile by selecting “Delete account and data” and confirming. You can also request deletion from the public account-deletion page without reinstalling the app. Account-deletion instructions

Deleting the Color Hunter account is different from signing out, clearing local app storage, uninstalling the app, disabling notifications, or deleting your Google Account. Those actions do not all have the same effect; the account-deletion page explains each one.

12. Your privacy rights

Depending on the law that applies to you, you may request access to, correction of, deletion of, restriction of, or a portable copy of your personal data, and may object to certain processing or withdraw consent where consent is the basis. You may also have the right to complain to a data-protection authority.

Email us from the address associated with your account and describe your request. We may ask for information needed to verify your identity. Rights can be limited where an exception in applicable law applies.

13. Security

We use measures designed to protect personal data, including authenticated API access, server-side ownership checks, private photo storage, encrypted network connections, restricted cloud permissions, request correlation, and avoidance of passwords, bearer tokens, email addresses, and photo bytes in application logs. No security measure can eliminate every risk.

14. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when the product, service providers, or legal requirements change. We will update the effective-date and last-updated fields and provide additional notice where applicable law requires it.

15. Contact

Contact us with privacy questions, rights requests, or concerns about an under-14 account.
